About arbooklist

I built arbooklist because finding AR books was genuinely frustrating. Every quarter my kid would come home with a reading goal and I'd spend 30 minutes cross-referencing lists, looking up titles one at a time, and guessing whether a book would count.

The bigger problem: kids don't remember exact titles. They remember "the one about the dog" or "something with dragons." The tools that existed required you to already know what you were looking for - which is exactly backwards from how reading actually works.

arbooklist is built around browsing - by grade, theme, author, or just exploring - so you can find books that fit your kid's level without already knowing the answer. Our database covers 11,578 books across every grade level from Kindergarten through High School, with author bios for 2,149 authors.
